Tour of California Stage 1

Stage 1: Sausalito to Santa Rosa
Start Time: 11:00 AM
Miles: 96.8, KM: 156
Finish ETA: 2:43-3:20 PM

Tour of California: Team Swift Raffle
Team Swift has a full day of activities starting at 9AM in downtown Santa Rosa. We will be selling raffle tickets for a Specialized Bicycle and Team High Road jersey, participating in the Kid’s Parade, assisting in the inaugural Women’s Amgen Tour of California Criterium and watching the Pro Men come racing into the finish line.

Note: The raffle winners will be announced on February 19 prior to the start of Stage 2.

9AM—meet at Women’s Race Day Registration, 640 Third Street (rear of the building on the D Street side.)
--Set up Team Swift tent & banners
--Distribute Team Swift waterbottles to Kid’s Parade Organizer
--Distribute Specialized Bike & Team High Road Jersey Raffle Tickets
10AM Volunteers for Kid’s Parade Assemble for instructions
11:00 AM Kid’s Parade
--10 Team Swift Rider Volunteers (riders who competed at the Cherry Pie Criterium) will Mentor the under-10-year-old parade—each volunteer will receive a TOC t-shirt
12:00-1:00PM Women’s Amgen Tour of California Criterium
--Volunteer to help in Pit #2—Eric & Tyler Brandt
--Ticket sales at VIP Tent, NorCal Tent and Specialized Tent
2:30PM Pro Men Stage 1 Finish
--Dissemble Team Swift Tent and Banners
--Drop off Banners to Stage 2 start location.
--Collect all Raffle Tickets

Stage 2, February 19th—Raffle Winner’s Announced prior to stage 2 start
Team Swift members that do not have school help announce prizes—Tyler Brandt

ACTIVITIES
All Day: Junior members, parents and friends of the Team Swift Junior Cycling Development Team participate in and watch the Tour of California.
Raffle Prizes: Buy a book of Raffle Tickets 5 for $20 and sign up for great prizes including a complete Specialized bicycle
Parking: Is available on surface streets and at the fairgrounds. If you park near City Hall you might not be able to get out until after the Stage 1 finish. Streets generally open up right away and bike parking is being provided by the SRCC near City Hall.

Tour of Marin this Sunday

Tour of Marin Half-Century

NOTE: If you want to attend the Tour of Marin half century you need to register and pay at the Tour of Marin website. Or you can join the Team Swift All Team Ride at no cost which starts at 9AM and will finish at approximately the same time as the Tour. All Team Swift members are invited to attend a free catered lunch and to meet the celebrities.

Ride Details
8:15AM-9:00AM: Arrival. Sign in and Prepare bikes for a 2+ hour ride.
9:00AM-11:30AM: All riders will start together then split into different groups determined by riding ability.
1:00PM-2:00PM: Ride groups return*

*After the ride Team Swift members and their parents are welcome to have lunch at the Marin Country Day School and to meet some of the Pro’s finishing the Tour of Marin.

Skill Level: All levels invited. Riders under 12 years old should have a riding parent in attendance.Rides will range between 1-3 hours depending on your level.

DIRECTIONS:
From the South: Travel north on 101 across the Golden Gate Bridge approx. 9 miles. Take the Paradise Drive exit. Then proceed along Paradise Drive 1 mile to Paradise Foods on the right.
From the North: Travel south on 101, exit at Paradise Drive and cross over the freeway going east on Paradise. Proceed along Paradise Drive 1 mile to Paradise Foods on the right.

Coach Laura will be at the Marin Country Day School to meet all the riders after the All Team Ride at the Tour of Marin. (After 11am). Come on down to the school after the ride for lunch and to meet some of the celebrities at the Tour of Marin.

Support the Team Swift Junior Cycling Development Program and join us for a beautiful 30 mile or 50 mile ride through Sonoma Wine Country with Scott Nydam and members of the BMC Racing Team! Scott will also be available in the afternoon for autographs and photos.

It’s a fun day for the whole family! Riders of all levels will go at their own pace along two mapped routes. For your efforts you’ll enjoy a free Commemorative T-shirt (if you Pre-Register by Oct. 15) a free cycling gift bag, prizes as well as a silent auction.
